Snapshot of my design process, starting with research, conceptualization, ideation, experimentation, planning, toile try-outs, finalizing, presentation and reflection.
Wearable art ensembles that were accepted for various juried exhibitions, such as International Textile and Apparel Association and Handweaver's Guild of America. Abstracts are attached next to detail pictures of each ensemble.
Authors: Cobb, Orzada, Kallal, Gorea, Hall and Roelse. The starting point was experimentation with shibori techniques and indigo vat. Each designer took swatches and transformed them into digital prints, then constructed a garment piece. I created the bird border print and the layered skirt.
Drexel University, 2001 This collection was inspired by marine vegetation. I started with all white materials. Each garment was created by draping squares of silk charmeuse resulted from the process of marbling. Machine knitted pieces were over dyed, embroidered and beaded.
